This course is a unique blend of traditional ethics and self-defense for Massage Therapists & Acupuncturists.
We will cover standard ethics topics to protect your patients, but we will also cover how to protect yourself; both from litigation and from physical assault. We will cover core issues in ethics regarding professional behavior, informed consent, confidentiality, respect, and dual relationships but we will also teach you how to spot signs of trouble, and how to handle aggression if the worst happens.
We are often alone in our treatment room or office with patients, we need to be prepared in case the patient is either inappropriate or violent. Nobody likes taking an ethics course. Nothing about what is ethical has changed, and you are either an ethical person or not. No course is going to change that. However, this course tries to make the ethics portion more realistic by covering real life situations from personal experience and make it more fun by including very important techniques to protect yourself.
Nate has 15 years experience treating patients in private practice, and 30 years experience in Martial Arts including, Tae Kwon Do, Shao Lin Kung Fu, Hsing I, Ba Gua, Emperor’s Longfist, Tai Chi, and Arnis. This course is fusion of his experiences treating patients, dealing with the public, and his martial arts background.
